Jia Yi Tan Chief Underwriting Officer iptiQ

Jia joined iptiQ in late 2020 and was appointed as iptiQ Chief Underwriting Officer in June 2023, responsible for designing market-leading insurance products and delivering strong underwriting results. 

Previously, Jia was heading up iptiQ Australia and has successfully transformed the business' operations and profitability. 

Jia has over 15 years' experience in the primary insurance industry and has enjoyed a diverse career path ranging from regulatory, actuarial, product to distribution leadership roles. Jia is passionate about closing the protection gap through creating greater insurance awareness and trust, building customer-centric propositions, and delivering on insurance promises. 

Outside of iptiQ, Jia has been actively volunteering at the Institute of Actuaries Australia since 2012 and she recently served as a Board Director there from 2021 to 2023.   

Jia is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries Australia (FIAA) and has a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Actuarial Science and Finance from the University of New South Wales. Jia is currently based in Australia and looking to relocate to London soon.
