What do you value most about your work at iptiQ?

Cultural diversity, and the great employees the company attracts. My team is Insurance Product Management at iptiQ EMEA Property & Casualty. We have got ‘traditional’ product managers, mostly with a business background, as well as actuarial product managers with a more quantitative background. Our team is spread over five countries and is a very diverse bunch with very different experiences. The youngest just turned 30, and the oldest is almost double that! I learn a lot from their different points of view and approaches.
In terms of the impact our work has, we produce products that people need in their lives to avoid the risk of financial losses. We remove some worries in our customers’ lives which makes me proud.

What are the benefits of being part of Swiss Re?

As an insurance product manager, I love that Swiss Re fosters a culture of communication between divisions, which provides access to a lot of expertise. As an individual, I love the atmosphere of the multicultural workforce at Swiss Re. And as a foodie, I’m pretty happy about our lunch options.

What new skills and knowledge have you gained at iptiQ?

Where should I begin? Professionally, I’ve never learned more diverse skills than at iptiQ. Arriving here from a purely actuarial role, I suddenly became product manager for home insurance product and needed to understand insurance Terms & Conditions and regulatory aspects in depth. I also started teaching myself Python in the first Covid lockdown, which is still helpful today. I think I have improved my cross-functional collaboration skills, too.

What would you say to a person considering iptiQ as their employer?

If you would love the opportunity to build something in the insurance value chain from scratch, and the chance to work in a growing company with fantastic colleagues from all over the world, join iptiQ!
